Medicines

Friendship, Kindness, Honesty, Dedication, Respect, Forgiveness- Outstanding SIAMS November 2016
We follow the Local Education Authority’s guidance on the administration of medicines in school. They recommend that children who are acutely ill and who require a short course of medicine such as antibiotics should normally remain at home until the course is completed. However if the child is considered well enough to return to school, medical advice is that in most cases the dosage of medicine required can be adjusted so that it is not necessary for the child to require any between 8.50 and 3.15. It is vital that the school is kept informed of any medical issues your child may have or develops while at St. Andrew's. If there are changes then please inform the school office at your earliest convenience. All staff regularly receive training from the school nurse about administration of Inhalers and Epi -pens.
