Oak have been training to become Playground Leaders to organise and lead games at break times.
All of Yr5/6 have had the opportunity to participate in virtual training to become playground leaders. They focused on what the role meant and the qualities that they needed to be a good playground leader, as well as different ways to communicate (verbal or written) and how to use these effectively when running games or playing outside. We put our skills to the test through a Skipping Challenge, whereby the children had to work together to get the whole class to run through a skipping rope and make it to the other side without being touched by the rope. Eventually, after persevering, they were successful!
