St Andrew'sCE Primary School

Our Christian Distinctiveness

St. Andrew's C of E Primary School is extremely proud to be part of a wider family of other church schools belonging to the well-established Diocese of Leicestershire. In partnership with St Andrew's in North Kilworth, we are committed to ensuring the best possible educational experience for every child in our care, regardless of whether they come from a Christian background, a different religious background, or a background of no religion at all.

We aim to:

  • Aspire towards a distinctly Christian vision, which is deeply rooted in the teachings of the Bible
  • Seek to live by our Christian values of Friendship, Kindness, Dedication, Forgiveness, Honesty and Respect
  • Provide a setting which warmly welcomes children and families from all backgrounds
  • Shape our decisions so that they always reflect our School's Vision
  • Lead Collective Worship to allow our school family to come together, learn together and reflect together
  • Allow the act of Christian prayer to weave throughout our school day and provide opportunities for reflection that promotes a sense of wellbeing
  • Forge strong links with our local church, St Andrew's in North Kilworth, the wider parish and village community as well as within our Small Schools Cluster
  • Teach Religious Education lessons every week in each class as well as organising Enrichment Days each term across the school
  • Ensure Religious Education lessons are broadly Christian in nature but also provide sound coverage of other major world religions including Hinduism, Islam, Buddhism, Sikhism and Judaism
  • Encourage children to think about ‘big questions’ and to move further along the path of their spiritual journey, whatever their starting point
  • Nurture a sense of awe and wonder in our world whilst valuing all responses
  • Make excellent use of our links with the Diocese, in providing training and development opportunities for staff and unique and memorable experiences for children
